If you’ve been looking for an amazing puzzle-platforming experience to play solo or co-op with friends, then you’re in luck! We’ve just released Trine 4 and Trine: Ultimate Collection to give you the chance to experience the lush environments and physics-based puzzles of the iconic Trine series on Xbox One.
What is Trine?
If you’re unfamiliar with the series, Trine brings together three unique heroes, Zoya the Thief, Pontius the Knight, and Amadeus the Wizard for exciting adventures through gorgeous levels filled with puzzles and enemies. Unlike most games, you can switch between these three heroes on the fly to combine their skills to overcome any challenge that faces you.
If you’re playing co-op, you can choose to play in either Classic Mode or Unlimited Mode. Classic Mode will limit you to just three players and one of each character while Unlimited Mode removes that limit and allows you to face down puzzles with up to four Knights, Wizards, Thieves, or any combination thereof. We’d suggest playing through the game in all three ways – single-player, Classic co-op, and Unlimited co-op to get the most out of your experience as a number of the puzzles change dynamically depending on the number of players.
New in Trine 4
A brand-new story brings the three heroes of Trine back together for a new adventure. Prince Selius, a troubled young man possessed with extreme magical ability, has escaped from the Astral Academy and is loose upon the land. Anywhere he goes, his uncontrolled power manifests the nightmares of anyone around him into reality – including the nightmares of our three heroes.
If you’re hoping for new abilities in this new adventure, then you’re in for a treat! Zoya and Amadeus have been honing their skills and bring with them new abilities that you can unlock to make them significantly more adept in combat. We’re particularly big fans of firing steel crates and balls all about the screen with Amadeus to smash and crash enemies. Used in combination with Zoya’s Ice Arrows, you’ll get to make the nightmares you face disappear into puffs of beautiful crystalline smoke.
We’ve only scratched the surface here of what you can discover in Trine 4. As the longest, most complete adventure yet in the Trine series, you’ll get to experience plenty of beautiful environments, face dangerous enemies large and small, and most importantly have a blast along or with friends on the newest adventure of Trine.
While Trine 4 can be enjoyed as a totally standalone experience, you can also add Trine 1, 2, 3 and 4 to your digital gaming shelf with Trine: Ultimate Collection, also available today. Grab a friend, and we hope to see you online!
