While games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate strive to be as balanced as possible, one fighting game not as concerned about keeping the playing field level is the Samurai Shodown reboot, coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.
Following on from six Genjuro Kibagami players making the finals bracket at Evo 2019, the game’s director Nobuyuki Kuroki said a balance patch would likely be released in the near future, but noted how the reboot was never going to be completely flat:
