When you think of gaming mice, there is a good chance that Razer comes to mind. The company has been known for creating gaming mice that many gamers, both casual and professional, have come to know and love. Now the company has taken the wraps off their latest gaming mouse in the form of the Razer Viper, a mouse that comes with a set of optical switches.
According to Razer who describes their new optical switches, “With Razer’s Optical Switches, no physical contact is required to send a signal. By using an infrared light beam that passes through a shutter to fire an electrical signal to the computer, the switches respond instantaneously to every finger press, making sure every action is executed to the player’s intent.”
Of course, whether or not this will make a difference in how you game remains to be seen, but if you do play a lot of games that requires constant clicking, then this could be worth checking out. Razer boasts that each switch is durable of up to 70 million clicks, meaning that in theory your mouse should last you a very long time.
Other features include a 5G Optical Sensor, 16,000 DPI, eight programmable buttons, and onboard storage that lets you save your settings when you travel to competitions and need to hook the mouse up to a new computer. The Razer Viper is priced at $80 and is available for purchase through Razer’s website.
