If you’re hungry for the comeback of Mass Effect, it looks like you won’t have long to wait – at least if you’re eager to replay the original games. The long-rumoured Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered just got a slightly more concrete confirmation, and while it’s still not official, it’s looking likely that this one is real.

During the recent Electronic Arts financial earnings report, the company said it planned to release an “EA HD title” this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2021. The phrasing seemed to imply that this would be another HD remaster, but didn’t confirm it – and CEO Andrew Wilson avoided addressing the topic of remasters elsewhere during the conference call.

But that EA HD title is, in fact, an HD remake of the Mass Effect trilogy, according to Jeff Grubb at GamesBeat. Grubb’s a reliable source of industry info, and highlighted the detail – buried in his original report – on Twitter. Nintendo Switch fans, though, are the only ones who should remain cautious, as the remastered trilogy will not be available on that platform at launch.
