Yesterday marked an absolute bonanza of news for League of Legends fans, including everything from the first-person shooter Project A to an apparent open-world RPG. But before all that, we’re getting a League of Legends CCG called Legends of Runeterra, which is already playable for a select handful of fans – and it’s already topping its predecessor on Twitch.
Legends of Runeterra’s Twitch rankings are already impressive, perhaps thanks to the fact that this is the only way most players can currently get an in-depth look at the game. It’s got a 137,000 viewers as of this story, second only to Fortnite – and several thousand beyond League of Legends itself at the moment.
That’s similar to how things went for Teamfight Tactics earlier this year, and while the autobattler had an impressive run in the upper echelon of the Twitch charts, it has by now fallen to ‘only’ the streaming platform’s top 30. Legends of Runeterra will, of course, drop much more quickly than that, since this early version will go offline over the weekend.
