After scores of games have garnered free brownie points by specifically announcing their lack of loot boxes, it seems we’re now in an age where studios are pre-announcing that their games will not be Epic Games store exclusives. So rest assured, Kerbal Space Program 2 will be available on a wide range of digital PC platforms at launch.
One of the official ‘top three’ FAQs is “will this be an exclusive to Epic Games store?” That question is answered with “at launch, Kerbal Space Program 2 will be released on Steam and other digital storefronts,” with console versions to follow some time afterward. The announcement isn’t a total non-sequitur, as publisher Private Division is putting out The Outer Worlds as a timed Epic exclusive on PC.
On a similar note, the FAQ confirms the game “will not have a purchasable in-game currency or loot boxes. A multitude of microtransactions has never been a part of Kerbal and we are not bringing it to KSP2. Our focus will be to deliver solid, impactful content our fans will love to incorporate into their game. Right now, we’re focused on a great launch!”
