Borderlands 3 has been a certifiable hit for Take-Two Interactive, posting record sales numbers for subsidiary 2K. The latest Borderlands game sold more than five million copies to retailers in its first week post launch, and 70% of Borderlands 3 copies were purchased digitally. Take-Two says this is a new record for a 2K cross-platform title.

According to Take-Two’s latest quarterly financial report, Borderlands 3 is also the fastest-selling title in 2K history, as well as the highest-selling PC title for the company. During those first five days on the market, the report says Borderlands 3’s sell-through – the number of copies sold to consumers – was up 50% over Borderlands 2.

The report also notes that Borderlands 3 will be available on Google Stadia when that platform launches later in the month.

Borderlands 3 was one of several titles that helped boost Take-Two to a better-than-expected second quarter, and the overall result has led to the company raising its financial forecasts for the remainder of the fiscal year. Take-Two also owns Rockstar Games and Private Division, which recently launched The Outer Worlds and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.
